My recommendation: I've used this for several years, and laid out early in the season can help prevent deer and rabbits from feasting on your newly planted seedlings. It lasts for about 3 months before it needs to be reapplied, or with new plantings. You don't have to worry about the rain washing it away either. It's another deterrent to add to your bag of tricks
