I do all the weeding by hand here at Sugar Moon Gardens—yes, really. I like a tidy garden, and it's the best way I know to stay on top of things. These are the tools and products I rely on to make the job faster and easier:

My go-to for quick, efficient weeding. Gets the roots, not just the tops, and works well for scratching in fertilizer. The P‑grip handle saves my hands. I now own two.

Mud H2O Gloves

Mud H2O Gloves

Waterproof, lightweight, and thin enough that I can still feel what I'm doing.

5-Gallon Buckets or Tuff Stuff Garden Tubs

Perfect for hauling weeds to the back—aka the woods—where they break down into compost in the shade.

Plantskydd Animal Repellent

Plantskydd

Used to protect new growth from deer and rabbits. Blood meal–based, lasts about three months, rain included.
