Sweet Peas for Sale this Fall!
The weather has been warm, low 80s, and we’ve had hardly any rain for the past two months. It’s crispy out there. A burn ban was recently put in place for outdoor fires, and I’ve had to increase watering time in the veg garden to keep things growing.
The sweet peas have officially wrapped up for the season. They were absolutely beautiful while they lasted, but most have now gone to seed, or are very close. Any remaining blooms have super short stems thanks to the heat.
Once the pods start turning brown, they can explode and scatter their seeds within just a couple of days. So I’ve been checking the plants daily and harvesting pods as soon as they’re ready.
